Hi,

I am after some clarity about the siting of an external wall mounted flue on a central heating system.

I have been informed that it must be at least 600mm away from a the property boundary (not sure if this is to the edge or the middle of the flue) however are there any other regulations with regarding it's position to doors / windows or height.

Any information on this matter would be really appreciated.

Thank you

David

Lots of stipulations regarding windows, doors, corners etc. They can all be found in the boiler manual and need to be taken into consideration regarding siting, as does the boundary where the distance depends on which way the flue is pointing..
The best thing is to talk to your installer first to decide on what is suitable.

Dimensions will be in the installers MI
However you should not carry out any work on a gas flued appliance unless you have the relevant qualifications and are gas safe

300 parallel , 600 facing, 2m or 2.5m if its a nuisance cant remember which?

what is a nuisance, its a neighbour going "oi, that blumin steam is going all over my windows and in my door, move it"

if its a recent install they can make you get it moved.

Download the installation instructions from the manufacturer for the exact dimensions for your appliance. You take the measurements from the edge.

Many thanks for the information, no way would I ever dream of touching anything gas related but I was just wondering if I was going to be limited to where the flue could be placed.

That's great, many thanks for the dimensions, I am looking for a new boiler and was just wondering what limitations would be put on the flue
