We have encountered a property where the D rated boiler is in the basement and a risen decked area has been added outside the patio doors of the ground floor. The flue terminates 300mm under the decking, directly below the patio door. The two Gas Safe engineers I employ cannot agree as to whether this is an at risk situation or not. Any advice before we contact Gas Safe tiomorrow?

if its with in 300mm of a door and the flue is under a deck its ar turn off and rip out but phone gas safe up

Thanks Shaun. The decking is obviously well ventilated as it's raised and open at 3 sides but fumes could enter through the patio door if the boiler was in use and the door open and the wind in the right direction! . The suggestion of extending the flue isn't possible due to the type of boiler. Unusual set up. I'll check with Gas Safe.

you wouldn't get flue for the boiler anyway now prob, and for old boilers 600mm from any open source but your gas engineer should know that, sound like you need to look for a different one :D

Any chance of pics & specific boiler info.
The picture I have in my head would be NCS at most.

Yep at the moment i would agree with graham , is the decking charred lol.

Im struggling to imagine the setup visually.
Need a pic.
Is the flue exiting the building into a below ground level catchement space and the deckings built over the top of such space ???

Hummmm? So I was thinking sounds at risk , but now fumes re entering and hot decking ...... Sorry its COFO
