have commercial boiler flue to do ,have found a company to make and fit but they are saying
job does not come under gas safe ! well how can you fit a flue to gas appliance and work does not have to comply with gas safe ? what i am missing ! It is establish company going for long time they say ! can some one explain to me what the work has to comply apart MI , I still have to commission flue after installation of it do not I ?

sounds iffy to me , then again ive had my commercial book bout 3 months and only half way through it had to cancewll the course twice , which is a shame cos i have the work but , too much doemstic on to take time off

Depends where the installation is Stan, for example Factories are exempt but still have to be worked on / maintained by competent persons. bit of a quagmire to some extent.

hotel central london ,i asked them who is to commission and certify the work . if is me I will deduct money of the price the quote me

Had a Convo with gs on this before

If you don't or a non GSR installs the flue then it has to be commissioned

If you supervise the install then you don't

But If you didnt install or a non GSR installed it, would you sign it off?

I wouldn't. You don't know the exact condition of the joints or suitability of the clips

I agree with Simon but I'm a wee bit confused here. Can you not get propriety flue's Stan? and would you be fitting them?

flue is 300mm twin wall ,and is about 17m long ! never done anything like it TBH
