So, if you drain down a ch system for some reason, combi, vented etc.

What the correct way to fill up & flush system please?

Cheers

Depends on how well you want to do it...?

if it's a basic flush you could just refill with a cleanser, recirculate for a few hours or days & drain down all the system again, then there's the magnacleanse process or a full powerflush... All depends on how bad the system is I guess!

Ok, it was the simple way (cheap) I was wanting. So what's the max time inhibitor should stay in? Or can you just leave it?

Did you mean the cleanser? Inhibitor is normally left in indefinitely.

Inhibitor stays in forever. Cleaner max 2 weeks probably. I wouldn't of thought much happens if any longer. Just wasteful I guess

Ok, yes the cleaner in & flush then inhibitor in & that stays in.

I don't do much heating! Trying to learn a bit.

It's difficult to say what cleanser really does the best job, I normally stick with sentinel x800 & x100

calchem 3 in 1 ?

chuck it in and run!

or do you want to fill up with clenser, run for 2 hours drain out, fill with clean water, drain off.
add inhibitor, fill up and done.

for me its always been heat system up fully then drain and refill add cleaner leave to run for x amount of time minimum 2 hours max 2 weeks then drain when hot and flush, leave filling loop open and close every rad and open one at a time until the water runs clear or for 10 minutes a rad then once finished fill and add inhibitor

Your in a hard water area so you may need something to remove scale as well, When I lived in Bracknell used to find that systems used to sludge up pretty bad, so I would only use Fernox F5 heavy duty cleaner , just make customer is aware that once cleaner is in system to keep an eye open for leaks, surprising how meny can start once dirt starts to dissolve.

+1 for above always tell customers to watch out for leaks especially on rad valves hard or soft water area the amount of gland nuts that ive had to re pack after a drain down
