Foghorn/Splutering from cistern! Video attached

Hi all,

Had a toilet installed recently which is now making the attached sound. (No chance of him coming back to sort it...)


Anyone know what's causing it? Issue coming from whatever that piece is on the right hand side (please let me know).

Upon a bit more googling, it looks like the component on the right is a "Wirquin Pro Jollyfill 1/2" plastic telescopic side entry inlet valve" - open to correction.

Any recommendations? I seen someone mention a Fluidmaster side-entry brass shank valve as being better (20e from Screwfix).

Additionally.. easy enough to change out? I'm okayish (last plumbing endeavour was taking apart an upstairs toilet to change the o-ring due to not filling quickly - took me a while to figure out what the issue was!).

Great - I'll fit it over the weekend and let you/the forum know how I got on! Any idea why a new inlet valve would be making that noise anyway? It was basically like that from the start.

Howye - just an update.

Sent the manufacturer a video of the issue and fair play to them, they sent me out a new one with a brass side entry rather than the plastic one I had.

I refitted it and hey presto, the noise is gone! Cheers for the help @ShaunCorbs !
