Discuss For those that don't lick their finger for siliconing... in the Plumbers Arms area at Plumbers Forums

Use a silicone profiling tool set like fugi ( I think my current one is from ā€˜bond itā€™ - what they had in tile shop).

These give you a really good finish, trust the tool and leave the silicone alone once you have used it!

Got a couple I have cut down to fit behind taps too.

If I canā€™t use it for some reason then I resort to a very clean finger, which I dip in a fairy liquid/water mixture as a release agent - it works quite well but is a last resort for me.

Never use a licked finger!

If itā€™s a bath, then usually fill and use that water, anything else is a small tub filled with water and use that, with a finger and big wipes/blue roll. Tried a tool once, ended up removing most of the silicone - probably too much pressure.

I do the cleaned finger, soapy water and a roll of kitchen towel. Have tried a couple of tools and not had much joy with them. Might have to try again with one of the brands mentioned in this thread.

Fuji type tools as below plenty of wipes and blue roll. Kop
