Forreli Optimax C25 irratic H&C water/now no spark & Kaput!

I gather Ferroli's are rubbish. Shame my installer didn't know! Have 3 storey house, not sure have big enough boiler to start. Anyway had intermitent H & C in shower and all sinks for about 3 months. Now only cold last week. Ferroli supposed to book engineer visit y'day, but nobody has called. £130 call out, plus an extra £50 for the first hour of labour - after reading all comments, I'm not sure it's worth it. Have found new PCB which my hubby wants me to order - £199!!!! He says there is no spark. There is gas coming in ok. He's done most of the obvious things, cleaning and unblocking this and that. He's v. good at fixing everything, but this doesn't seem to want fixing.
I wonder if anybody has any ideas.
We are tempted to get another boiler....any suggestions.

The Forum is a great idea. Any advice, much appreciated.

is it kaput on central heating too? or just your hot water? Any fault codes being displayed? Is fan running, pump running ......? A bit more info needed please

the optimax is usually the best forroli you dont get much trouble with them except the clocks are rubbish ,thats the only forroli i will fit,usually for landlords it usually comes with a 5 yr guarentee so before you pay anything check if the guarentee is still valid its highly unlikely to be the board had gas valves play up on them but not the board

yep,now the performa/105 has gone need to look at cheaper combis

am like you i stick to baxi usually and forroli are crap except for this optimax like ive said the 31c is good flow rate and only £499 +vat and 5 yr guarentee ok for landlords my mates been fitting them for yrs with very few comebacks, the clock is crap but can get round that with and r/f clock and if ye get a problem with the heating side it goes to low output to protect itself once they stop selling the optimax i wont fit another forroli ever again also if there was somethink cheap with ok reputation i wouldnt fit them either

thanks, Fault 01,but bunged pcb back in y'day and whacked it about as suggested and hey presto all is working again!
Have signed up with British Gas on annual contract.....sounds good. Coming out to check it out Frid am.....Ferroli still not contacted us, dead loss.

I guess will need to change board. Will let u know what happens Frid.

Well once they've taken under their wing you have no worries regards parts Hazel... Lets hope it keeps chuggin along till then
