Hi
I have a fridge/freezer which has an ice cube maker on it. The water filter is supposed to be changed every 6 months according to the manual but I would like some advise on this
1) Is 6 months too soon for a water filter, how long can it go whilst still being effective.
2) The filter is external (seems like an after thought by Daewoo) and has simply been fitted on the floor behind the fridge freezer. This means to change it the fridge freezer has to be pulled out, filter changed and then pushed back in. This seems a bit of a to do really.
What I would like to do is have the incoming water pipe extended up near the height of the fridge and then to route the plastic tube from the water pipe to the filter. This filter I would like above the fridge (as there is a top over the fridge) in its own mount and then the filter output tube to go all the way back down to the bottom of the fridge. This way the change becomes simple without having to move the fridge freezer.
The above long winded but am I able to do the above without it affecting the action of the filter (as currently all below fridge at floor level) or has it been fitted at floor level for some reason?
Please help...
