We live in a 200+ year old house and - over the past couple of days - a noise has started on a regular basis from our water pipes. It sounds like water is being drawn, but there are no taps on and no toilets are refilling, etc. It lasts for 2-3 seconds every few minutes (the interval between varies a little).
We can't trace where it coming from - no dripping/running taps and no faulty cisterns that are constantly refilling (that we can rell). There is also a water hammer noise at the end, so water obviously flowing under pressure when it happens. Any ideas, please?
