Front push button flush

A concealed (behind unit) toilet is faulty.

It's a front push button.

It basically take 3/4/5 goes to flush.

Now, I believe its a Siamp so should twist off and be replaced.

If it's not and can't be fixed it a matter of getting to the cistern and changing it. The units are wood and I take it should come out somehow,

Any thoughts on this one?

I've got a spare Siamp that I hope will twist on, seal & work.

Last time I tried to just swap one it didn't seal and let water through so it look like it was over flowing. Couldn't figure that out.

The concealed units are normally accessible by removing two panels. The top one will usually pull off. They are usually pretty tight and you may need to get something behind the panel to remove it. The second panel will then lift up and out after cutting the silicon seal around the pan. Careful some pans have a screw hole either side of the pan driven into the panel so obviously remove before lifting panel. You will probably get away with just removing the top panel.

Some panels are only accessible from the front, some have a panel of wood on a hinge or some just pop out

With regards to new valves not sealing I always get a flat head on the flush valve cradle to scrape away any scale as this can cause the flush valve to let by

I've looked at this one and the flush works everytime. The lady there is old and seems to not be able to push & hold the button long enough.

The niece can also do it so it's not faulty.

It's a front push button with an air hose.

Can they be adjusted? It's all concealed with just a small top access panel.

Any thoughts?

adjusted for what? less force needed to flush? a new one (or new tubes) will likely have a very small improvement. if she's really weak something like a fluidmaster might be easier. some of the pneumatic ones do seem ever so slightly stiffer to operate. sounds like a waste of time job. if she's too frail to use it how confident will you be in sorting that for her with anything you fit?

Not confident anything will be easy for her other than someone flushing it for her!

Something worth trying that's free, take hoses off and cut the ends of them so that they fit tighter on the connections, some times the air can leak because hoses aren't grabbing as tight anymore

Also is it a green Thomas Dudley flush valve? Because earlier models have a sort of rubber connection for hoses which were prone to intermittent faults where as newer models have rigid plastic connectors

If she is frail and flushing is not achieved because of her ''weak'' hands, then I will say replace the whole toilet with one of those types you find in top hotels (I think planes have them but can't be so sure now). You just wave your hand infront of it and it flushes. No effort required. Expensive but fit for purpose
