Energy bills 'could overtake mortgages in five years? - Telegraph
within 5 years time energy prices could over take mortgage repayments

I'm already gettting people absolutely convinced there is something wrong with their appliances because their gas bills are suddenly so high
I'm also seeing people on pre pay meters who top them up at begining of the month and when they run out they run out, when its finished they eat cold food and sit in the cold. when I turn-up to do a cp12 etc theres no gas

this is also interesting

imagine that thousands and thousands of customers needing purging and relighting, it would have been unmanageable

Give me a chance to moan about the cost of living!

In 2008 we had twins! Went from being a family with one child who could afford to eat blueberries and asparagus to being a family with 3 kids. At the same time in the last 4 years deisel has gone up a bit!
Insurance has gone mad.
And all basic food costs have doubled, that's without the increase in family size.
Our household bills have dramatically risen.
Mr TP used to only work 5 days but for the past 4 years 6 days per week has become the norm.

I know we are really lucky because we have work.
I wonder how other families on lower or fixed incomes manage when everything has gone up so much.

At least the cost of phone tarifs / calls has gone down!

Do you mean to say mr t.p doesn't allow asparagus?! I'd say that is a necessaty!

you want to try keeping a wife, 2 horses and 3 dogs, 2 cats in the style they have become accustomed to, its horrendous. And the kids keep moving back in again! Apart from that, our gas bill has only recently overtaken out water/sewerage bill down here in the southwest, and you think youve got problems!!

this is why i broke into next door when they were on holiday and connected my boiler to the gas supply. ;)

Good moan :yesnod:

Swap your asparagus for tenderstem broccoli and give up the blueberries no one likes them.

That's why you should always keep a spare gas meter at home ;) nah, only joking, but ye, gas prices will constantly increase as it's a limited resource!
