Gas carcass in new build flats

Landed on site today to a few flats (timber frame).
The first fix gas has been done, all ran in the ceiling void. Agent wants to know what sized vents to put in.

What's cross sectional area of the void?

The entire area of the ceiling space. 6mx12m approx. All open.

I thought that if gas pipes are under floor boards, no extra ventilation is required? Or is it different for flats?

What do you mean buy ceiling void Paul? A ceiling/ floor between two flats? If so then the gas should not really be run in this space unless in a purpose made box vented to outside tbh. Especially the lower of the two flats as this space is in the upper of the two property's and a leak from downstairs flat would leak into upstairs. If it passes a communal space it needs to be in iron or in a fire rated cupboard/ box in that area.

The flats are pretty much finished, all painted.

honest i like jon, he obviously knows his onions. His big problem is getting any changes in place as i feel he will be fighting a loosing battle.

as for the gas pipework, well, i would def avoiding getting involved with that one mate, i can see the stuff hitting the fan with one of these jobs. do they even have AECV'S?

Don't think they do have aecv's. Not really took any notice of the flats tbh, trying to avoid them. Only done the one day so far..
