Just in the process of planning a kitchen, but I am confused about the clearances required for a gas hob. Electric is going in now, but might as well make sure that space is left to allow a gas hob.

If wall cabinets are fitted adjacent to this the hob area is an additional 50mm each size required? Is the cabinets are above 400mm from the worktop, is this clearance still required.

here you go
this shows that if the wall units are in line with the edge of the hob they need to be at least 460mm above the hob, any lower than 460 mm from the hob requires them to be set back 50mm either side from the vertical
