Been asked to look at a gas cooker.

tenant says there is no gas coming through to the oven or the grill and the ignition is not sparking either.

She he hasn't touched any buttons or anything.

any ideas?

Thanks in advance

I thought that but she said it has always worked fine b4 and hadn't pressed anything. I was thinking Mabey there's a pcb in there or something?

sound like new cooker job if it is that.

Is the gas taken from a bottle? First thing I look at is the regulator. Any gas cooker I've come across only has pcb for time clock not for controlling gas. If it's both oven and grill would definitely check gas supply first as they are normally completely seperate.

As ermitrude says, normally if oven won't work then it's a clock/timer issue if hob side working. Usually a power cut and the clock needs set.

Went to look at this one and set the clock. Still not working. There's only 2 buttons. Do you think it's possible the pcb that controls the clock is faulty so it doesn't realise the time is set or something?

There were literally 2 buttons. If you press them both in you are able to set the clock.
then if you press one at a time you get. Picture of a bell that I assume is a timer. Either way there's nothing I haven't tried pressing to get it to work. As there are only 2 buttons you can't really go wrong in setting the timer or clock. It still doesn't work though?

I know that was what I was thinking. I wanted to get a more definitive diagnosis before I said that though.
its quite an old oven so hopefully the parts are obeselite

Do you know what brand and model it is? If you do you could give them manufacturer a call. Ask the customer if they have the book for it.

I tried the manufacturers but was the wrong number. Have put I a high price in the hope they go for a new one
