I live in a new build house. I have a recently bought a fluless gas fire and need an airbrick installing too, I'm concerned about the draft from the airbrick. How much would I be looking at to have a different gas fire fitted plus a flu installed?

How much does your gas safe registered installer want for fitting the flueless?

cant give a price without seeing your house but flueless the facts>1. you need 100cm2 of ventilation2.the room must be a certain size(in mi booklet)3. you must have backround heating (a rad) and best of all my gas lamp puts out more heat if you cant have gas consider electric

I'm just debating getting a flu fitted to save the downside of an airbrick but wonder how much having a flu fitted will cost

So it's a lot more expensive to have a flu fitted than an airbrick

a tad yes for example recently done a solid fuel install the flue to buy was £1800,personally i would go electric flueless can be fatal we had such a fatality in wales with a focal point flueless

As said flueless gas fires arent the best, they scare me a bit too. Is the fire on an outside wall? you could have a rear exit powerd flue if it is maybe, have a look at the stadium black hole ventilators (air bricks), they have an internal baffel in them which cuts down the draughts dramaticly (imo).
or as Dans said get a leccy one

Back in the 90s I was working for a large house builder fitting a boiler to what i thought was an outside wall, put the template up etc drilled through and instead of seeing 117mm of daylight all i saw was the painters face laughing at me as Id drilled through into next doors kitchen,

well done have not done that yet worst i did was turn a gas meter into a balloon after mis-taking the gas for the cold water(they were both 22mm and i was replacing a stolen boiler) transco guy peed him self after i had rang it in as a small uncontrollable leak
