Gas hero

Dont know if any of you have seen this but after the cold blooded murder of innocent people on their sunbeds by some .........( i nearly did , but dont want banning ) earlier today, a gas engineer took 3 bullets in order to save his girlfriend , I dont know any details I think and hope hes still alive.
I think we have got ourselves a hero lol

Irish woman killed over there. I believe her and her hubby had been given holiday by someone who won a prize but couldn't go. Hubby had been very ill and family member gave them holiday as a gift.

I actualy felt physicaly sick when I heard about this, they have taken this to a completely new level now, my thoughts and forum rules prevent me saying a lot more than I would like to.

Nothing to do with leaky borders. We are nurturing home-grown jihadists, born and bred in Britain. That is far more worrying than any Eurozone immigrants, most of whom are not Muslim.

Don't think so. That era has pretty much passed. There was, in the 70s at least, a general, low-level, pervasive racism that allowed the NF etc to flourish. Not so much now - look at the proliferation of anti-fascist groups, mainly white British and not so loony left.

No, it's old hat. When the current US agenda is satisfied, they will carry out air strikes against the ISIS strongholds, Islamist fundamentalism will once more become toothless and we'll have another bogeyman to be told to be afraid of.

We had McCarthyism/anti-communism and the cold war. On a more local level we had the IRA, now we have radical Islam, it may be Russia again soon the way Putin is posturing and Obama is rising to the bait.

funny old thing but when the ussr fell apart and the wall came down, the RN strategists and war gamers all sat down and predicted that the world would be more destabilized and more wars and killings would occur. So the advice was to keep the armed forces up to speed and a decent size to be able to fight back. Seems the Admirals were right and none of the governments have listened as there's b all we can do with whats left of our armed forces!

Trouble is, conventional forces aren't usually the most effective against an asymetrical threat.

But this thread isn't about politics.

Its about a genuine hero, someone who demonstrated the best of humanity, in the face of the worst.
