What do you guys think of this flame picture? Cheers

well theyre not yellow and theyre not lifting

whats the working pressure at the meter, and whats the burner pressure

I think you'd be quicker putting your boiler on to heat the house

It wasn't clean, I cleaned it!!
The flames are large and erratic whilst on, if you look at the flame to the front two quarters of the small ring, that looks normal to me and the back two quarters are erratic like the rest, this looks good to you guys then? Thanks in advance for your opinions :)

I'd say the biggest problem is the hob has been installed on a vertical surface. I.D for me :ciappa:

Looks like a transco call for governor adjustment? High pressure?

It is an open burner with a nice clean flame.
If the pic is a decent representation then I think you are being too picky. Looks ok to me!

jets over sized or worn giving large mantles. over gassed
stuff them with some pan fat!

looks far to fluffy to me caps not positioned properly or jets impeded or wrong jets or incoming gas pressure to high that flame picture definitely does not look right, been watching this thread with interest any of you lads that thinks that looks ok on a fairly modern hob look again there is something very wrong with that flame picture

high pressure or worn/wrong jets i guess. Its not working as designed so needs attention.

high pressure on a hob is far from safe and that one has no ffd

i agree, i have disconnected several hobs/cookers in the last few weeks. Most for poor combustion due to lack of cleaning/maintenance. If the owner does not want to look after there appliance then its not my problem.

pressures were spot on, gas rate was all good too! the ring plates were corroded slightly (pitted) underneath you think this could cause it? had to id the boiler there too! tenant wasnt happy :-/

they wont help by plates you mean the ali caps? not the black caps, something worth trying clean the jets with vinegar see if that improves things

cleaned the injectors, cleaned everything! the black caps on top are pitted and rusty underneath!

unless they are very bad they should not have a bearing,if the cause cant be found new hob time
