Hi,

I am NVQ level 2 qualified and am looking to start the Gas Safe course in October 2010, but, as yet, i can't find a company who will take me on to that gain the work experience hours needed to become Gas Safe regsitered. Without the hours I can't become Gas Safe Registered!

Can anyone help?

I can't see how you can be looking to start the course in October this year Shane if you have not started your portfolio yet? I did 12 months free to get my portfolio up together before the college would let me on the course.

Keep asking and putting signs up in local plumbers merchants etc. I won't lie, it is very hard out there at the moment for many RGI to get plenty of work let alone taking someone else on.

All the best with it.

I cant get over the fact people wanting to work for free.

Crazy world now, this industry is actually got to be in a poor state !

If you are in South London, then there is a college nearby (Carshalton) that will allow you to sit a category 3 course without being employed in the industry. 14 weeks, so might buy you a bit more time to get your foot in somewhere
