No you doughnut! I know where the mall is!

I meant in the picture!

lmao!

A couple of friendly gents refurbed a victorian house down here complete with gas lighting throughout, to run as a hotel!!! for the japanese wanting a victorian experience!! they went broke and parted company. I got called in to recommission the heating and boiler when it was sold, took me an age to work out why there were no light switches!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Apparently my great grandfather was a lamp lighter in Manchester. I've never seen one before so thanks for the pic.

My only experience with gas lighting was being called to a victorian renovated house as to why the new 30kw combi wasn't working. The tools had reconnected the old lighting pipework up and run from a capped end next to the boiler.......

When I was a kid up North all the street lights were gas, still remember gas lighting in my grans house.

I cut some old pipework out for gas lamps a few years back. Whole house was piped in for them. They where all capped poking out the celling.

My sister's house had gas lamps on the walls before we refurbished it. The big houses round Bootles' Derby Park, wasn't round there was it?

i can remember the gas lamps and the man coming round every night to light them in north london circa 1963/4

Ha it wasn't far, southport road in bootle

Yeah, it's just off there. Must be a few old biddies round there with them still in.
