hey all,

Im a new poster and have a couple of questions to ask , first a bit about my background - ive done a 4yr apprenticeship in industrial/commercial heating qualified to nvq level 3 and worked in the industry for 8 yrs overall , i am now currently doing a domestic gas course with e-on

My 1st questions is about gas meter fitting jobs i have seen advertised , some are offering between £700 -1000 a week ( i assume this is dependant on amount fitted ) and others are offering a bonus if 50 are done in a week , how likely is that you could install that many ? and is it achievable to earn that sort of money in a week ?

2nd has anyone got any general advice on starting your own company , any information is welcome

Cheers

welcome to the forums,

i have heard good things from eon, how did you get in teir door for a job?.

thanks,
i dont have a job with e-on , im doing a course at their gas training academy in tipton (same place where their current employees get trained and re-assessed), although one of the service engineers i did my work placement with told me they are on the lookout for new people in the northampton , mk/bedford area

hi i have worked on these contracts for onstream thought a number of companies always do ok but you have good days and bad only get paid for what you do.

Hi Larsson67

i am thinking to do the gas course with e on myself, would you recommend the tipton academy any advise will be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi
yeah i would certainly recommend the e-on gas course at tipton , however it is a very intensive course and i personally think it is best suited to people who already have experiance in the heating and plumbing industry

i got a mate who his company send him on a contract with e-on doing gas safety checks round MK. i think he has to do a minimum of 50 a week to keep the contracr.
