Hi all

As most of you will know I'm a service and repair guy with little, but increasing, installation experience.

Currently the meter in question has an iron elbow off the meter outlet. Without really thinking about it I just bought a 22mm ef meter union for the job. I took it round there and low and behold the outlet cut out in the meter bracket is much too large an aperture to support the new union, it just sort of falls through lol.

What fitting do I need instead guys? I'm going straight up,so reusing the existing elbow isn't possible.

Sorry for the newbie questions, but if it's worth doing it's worth doing right :)

Thanks again guys

Dan

How about a meter union with a bit on the side like they use on incoming side? Try BES or some one like that.

White plastic lug off to the side? I have an idea that's what I need but don't wanna order one up if it's wrong and still won't fit lol.

You need one of these

or stick a straight female on the old tail and put it back on.

Thanks Tamz that's exactly what I'm on about! Cheapest I can find the bugger is £7.99 plus delivery!!

What straight will I need if I use the old fitting? Just a "3/4"bsp female to 22mm" type coupling? I'm crap when it comes to iron I've never worked on it. Straight and tapered?

An 1" x 22mm female iron or an 1" iron union with a 1" x 22mm male iron or any other combination you like.

I don't know how much the plastic inserts cost. I tap them off my local tofo.

I'll order one up and have a go....I seriously begrudge paying over a tenner for a poxy plastic adapter. Maybe I'm just tight lol
