hi i have recently had a new boiler installed and the pipe work does not look very good it is located above the front door and runs down to the floor near the gas cuboard looks very badely done i was wondering if the pipes have to be coverd because i have 2 children and i am concerned about this any help would be graitfull thanks.

It doesn't have to be covered, no. Aslong as it it will clipped to the wall it should be fine.

It may look unsightly now but as mentioned if it is secured and clipped correctly it sounds within the regulations.
Remember the pipework will get a lot darker over the next few week and wont be so conspicuous.

Another way of thinking is because the pipe is external, if you do get any minor leeks a few years down the line, It will just blow away. Imo external pipework correctly fitted is a lot safer than gas pipework in voids or walls as if you get a slight leek it could build up without you ever knowing about it.

a couple of the clips are broken sould i get back in touch with the company?

If your not happy with it and you have paid good money for the work, yes you should call them back. Any honest company will have no issue in returning if there is a problem. Oh, and if you happy with their service then do call them back for any other work. I find repeat customers are the beat to dwal with and they will look after you better.
