When doing a gas rate I though if it was within 5% of the MI it's ok.
On a recent GS inspection the inspector told me within 10% under & 5% over is acceptable (or the other way round can't remember).

Just wondered what other people use ?

thanks blod

That sounds good, I would only want a max of 5% over on gas rate esp if open flue, but you could quite easily 10% under if stats modulate the burner.

This my calculation :
Gas rate I get - Manifacture gas rate x 100-100= gives you the %!
23.10kw(net)-24.00kw(net) x 100 - 100=
=0.90x100-100=
=90-100
=-10% undergas
If flame picture ,w pressure ,b pressure ,and CPA are OK and there is Not sighn of soot
Applaiance has passed a safety check!
Meters are not 100 accurate !
this is wat I was told in my training center

It is very rare to actually get the same results as stated in the manu's. Depends on a lot of variables.

ive always worked on 10%, old bg trainer told me that and ive stuck to it. always thought it could be on the inacurrate side but if everything looks ok, no signs of poor combustion then i think its ok, always try to get it closer though

gas engineer i did my apprenticeship with told me and i will always keep in my head !

when you do any safety check : you dont look at the appliance as you want to pass it you always look to fail it !

and if it pass ,get paid and move to the next one !
