Hi there lads and lasses,

a question for the gas engineers,
i was told in college that a gas appliance has to be within 5% of the rating,
but someone told me you cannot properly gas rate a condensing boiler because of the modulating gas valve.

Any thoughts

All new condensing boilers can be gas rated properly when they are put in to service mode to check combustion.

gareth bale smells of toe nail eggs. :)

its + 5% and -10%. theres a gas safe TB about it.

Cheers wheaty,

do you know what tb it is? And Gareth bale certainly does not smell, he is a legend. Lol.

tb= technical bullitin

Service mode or just turn on a tap to max the boiler.
If you open the bath tap max, its unlikely to modulate during the test.
