Hi.I've now let my gas safe lapse and am not renewing it.I have bought some flats/ bedsits and the gas safe engineer has condemned one of them on the following grounds.1. You can't have a gas fire in a bedsit2. You can't have a gas cooker in a bedsitMy understanding was that the room had to be at least 20m3 to have a 6kw fire fitted which must have an oxygen depletion sensor fitted.A cooker is allowable providing there is adequate ventilation, and if it was new after 2008 it must have an oxygen depletion sensor fitted.Am I out of date? The bedsit in question has an openable window, at least 100mm diameter non closeable ventilation and a mains powered co detector connected to a gas solenoid valve just up stream of the meter.
