Got a gas safe inspection in 40 mins time and I'm papping myself to say the least. Hate these kind of things. So many things to remember. Fingers crossed. Wish it was at 8 am to give me less time to sit and stress!!

All went great! Had 4 jobs ready and waiting. Went to the first and carried out a few tests. A few questions. 2nd job was just a look around. Said he was more than happy. A nice bloke, very laid back and not at all how I expected. Still, it didn't stop me spending the hours of 6.30am and 9.30am on the toilet!!

:hurray::hurray:

Pleased it all went well and you got a good friendly inspector, there seem to be a lot more of them now :hair:

Who did you have, was it Clive?

No it was Nik West. Nice fella. Think I've met Clive before tho.

ive got my inspection on the 29th, not looking forward to it 1 bit, thought id be clever and pay for it via internet on xmass eve, that way there system might not clock that i needed an inspection due to a backlog when they all went back in Jan but no such luck lol

Lol I like your thinking! To be honest mate I was shatting myself about it. Not that I doubt my ability to do the job but I panic under pressure! It was just a chat and a cup of tea first thing and then a look at a couple of jobs. It really isn't anything to worry about. Don't lose any sleep!

I've got mine tomorrow. I've been doing the bloody job 30 years and I still get nervous.

Do you know who you've got for the inspection?

ive got the next best thing to look forward to, getting inspections from scottish gas guys while doing installs, drill you on techincal stuff for a while maybe 2 hours they are quite strict they pull you up for health and safety also not just gas

The difference between Scottish Gas Inspections & Gas Safe is that they have their own way of doing things and if you're not doing it to their way of thinking they will put you off site until you can be "re-educated"..not just Gas safety either.. Nice eh?

Well that was nice and straight forward. Sat and had a chat and a cup of tea then went round and serviced a friends boiler. Just needed to see me do standard tightness test, working at boiler and meter and FGA.

i know i was on one of their jobs the other day overheard one of the inspections, the apprentice was asked if he was to do a spillage test in the house what would it be on, he replied the customer ! haha just after passing his gas aswell its been the talk of the week, scottish gas guy obviously not impressed but its been hilarious for us, the boy is useless

so ive heared, i like to think i do but im definitly not good under pressure, hopefully it will go ok.

It'll be fine mate. Stay calm. It's basic stuff they want to know. They aren't there to catch you out or to make you feel like crap.

I had Steve Farrel, nice guy, apparently an inspector with Corgi from the start, don't know how far down he covers but they cover large areas now. He wasn't interested in tripping me up, just wanted to get a feeling for my ability as far as I could see.

quick question, ive got my annalyser comming tomorrow, anton v2, kit2, i want to try and get used to it before this inspection, at work im using a testo old school one, does the cd that comes with the v2 show you everything you need to know about it or is it a question of just playing with it untill you get used to it? if anyone else has one that is.

just say you dont own one, what are you going to show him on your inspection ?

You've got nearly two weeks until the inspection just have a play with it and have a read up of the instructions.
