Gas safe inspection just cancelled

Just had a call from gas safe to say my inspection that was booked in for tomorrow has to be cancelled due to a fatal incident that he needs to attend...

Keep an eye out on the news, doesn't sound to good does it, feel sorry for who ever it involves and their family.

That is one piece of news that everyone who has worked on a gas appliance hates to hear because someone will be held to account.

The problem I see in Ireland is the big companies are creaming the money off the top by charging for services on the consumers bills, they are taking so much there's very little left for the tradesman who is actually providing the service, the word play has started where the basic service is now being called a "Safety Check".

"Servicing" gas boilers has now become a race, fastest I've heard is nine minutes, I don't care how good the service man is (we call them RGI's) there is no way to do a complete safety check let alone service in nine minutes.

Another race to the bottom of the quality ladder & if anything goes wrong it's the small guy that takes the blame.
