Hi Folks,

I receieved a letter from Gas Safe Register today telling me a property I installed a boiler in has been nominated for a Gas Safe Inspection. As you can imagine, nerves set in, as much as you think you carry out a good job, these still play effect! What exactly is involved during this process? Thank you

Bare in mind, this property was one of the problem properties I had, back last month, who was refusing to pay because they had bloody drop feeds! I think they are trying to be difficult with myself.

Sounds like the custard just being difficult.
They will probably just check all gas related stuff, ie flue termination, gas safety stuff etc.
Do you get an invitation to attend at the time of inspection?
Did you notify this boiler?
If so, do what I do. I get the cert sent to me, then I pass it on to the customer. That way they dont get an invitaion to get it checked by gas safe. Its not me being paranoid/difficult etc, just that I like to know that the cert definitly comes, and you can then get a copy of it, for future reference.

Gas safe make a fool of them selves on these inspections.

I had one a few years back and it was that a gas rate was done! The property had been capped by transporter and no electric to run boiler.

refusing to pay because of drop feeds ? did you not explain to him/her at time of quotation that it would have to be drop feeds ?

yes quigley this was an ongoing thing, it was all sorted, installation was 3 months ago, I dont think we have to notify installations in Scotland do we? Cause I never notified one yet, that would be new to me ... ?

yes, not mandatory in scotland [DLMURL]https://engineers.User PlumbersForums.net Instead - Copy the content, don't link to it.co.uk/Notifications.aspx[/DLMURL]

it still worries me though!!
