Ive got an inspection from Gas Safe in August as im still on probation. They have asked me to nominate Three jobs that they may want to look at. Im finding it difficult to gain acess to any of the customers are all at work during the day. How has any one else got round this.

Have you got any jobs in progress? Or if you have a gas job coming up then invite him along whilst you are doing it. Show willingness to show your work and they might be a bit flexible on their times. Most of the inspectors are decent guys and know the problems with access.

Hi Martin
I had my probation inspection a few weeks ago and was told the same thing - 3 different properties. It's worth contacting your inspector to see what he wants because my inspector didn't need 3 properties - he wanted to see me working on 3 different appliances (I had 2 boilers, ILFE and cooker) and his view was that he'd rather spend more time talking to me about the individual jobs (they were appliance services) and general gas safety than driving from place to place in the van!
Give the Gas Safe appointments team a call and ask if the inspector can call you and then you can sort it out with him. Whereabouts do you live, by the way? The instructors cover a large 'patch'. If you're based in southern counties, you might have the same one I did. good luck, let me know how you get on

What if on the scenarios that you could not get any access and cancelled on several occasions or were just to busy . What would happen ? would gas safe suspend your registration?

I could only manage to gain access to one job I had done on the inspection date, so I was made to service my own boiler and do all the basics and asked me loads of questions. Then took him to the job I had done, he gave it a quick once over and was happy and then off he went.

No..... Why do people think of the Gas Safe Register as grim reapers? They want you do succeed. They are very helpful. If that were the scenario they would most likely re-book. Relax and think positive. If you're up to it and confident in your abilities you will be ok. I got the date mixed up for my 1st one and unknown to me the inspector was knocking on my door when I was 20 miles away. He just popped a card through the letterbox and we re-booked

You misunderstood the question i'm saying what if someone was basically saying i'm busy cant get inspected this day that day or any day .In a nutshell what if a n engineer was being obstructive? is it a legal requirement as part of registering to be inspected??
