Absolute joke! Came out of self employed to employed and paid over £400 for my number.
Got a email saying a inspector needs to view your work. Ive had 0 installs, all was servicing few boilers. So i phone GSR and the woman was right moody. She said that i need a visit because of my number, i said im employed, therefore wont be taking a day off unpaid for a meet up with the inspector, however dont mind him coming to some boiler installs that ive already done for my employer now.
She told me 'No!' And because im employed they dont think i need a inspection (i think thats a joke! Aswell as how do they know im safe or not?! Are they waiting for something to go wrong?!) and because im employed they said i need to cancel my membership.
I said 'OK, ill want a refund then' but she said they wont, so im not stupid and cancel something that ive paid full price for!

My point is, they dont want to see engineers under the top gaffer, but rather see the gaffers and inspect them

Anybody had this issue before? The letter said to ring up asap, i did and she said that i need to email not ring ?! Wtf?! Lol

Lol i might of phoned some sexy line ;) lol yeah, it was gas safe, just think ive caught the woman on her blob! O well... The arguement continues..

It kinda flies against the mantra of getting your own GS number and staying legal if she's telling you to cancel your own because you are now employed. I had my own number when I was employed, cant see how having two is an issue tbh. I would phone back and ask to be put onto an assistant and not the cleaner who you obviously spoke to.

The same old story.
Give us your money but don't bother us again!

I have two gas safe numbers! I had an inspection about 6 months ago. He came out to watch me service a few boilers in work and signed me off.

whats the problem with having an employed number and your own gas safe number. i used to work for a company and had my own number for doing boiler swaps at wk ends - if not we would be working illegaly

Thats different to what I had they came out to do my gas safe inspection then 2 weeks later got a letter through saying I needed another inspection for my own registration when I said I had an inspection for the company I then worked for it didnt matter so he came out with me (Same bloke who said "oh didnt I see you the other week") stayed with me for 20 mins whilst I took all the readings they needed and then left me to it.
