it seems to me that getting on the forum should only be a matter of proving you are gas safe registered via your reg number, if you dont know anyone on the site how does your posts get to 10?

The process is we want you to prove you're going to be a regular contributer to the forums. Then we ask you a couple of questions for 2 reasons, to prove you actually are gsr and not someone who has copied or borrowed a gsr number, and to find out whether you are keeping yourself up to date with the changes that occur in the industry.

ok croppie thats fair enough, but im 47 years old have worked in this industry both man and boy, have worked for major boiler manufacturers and it s seems like boys playing games on what looks like a very good forum, so a lot of decent engineers might feel its becoming hard work?

As old as me there mate, we had a spate of posts last year giving dangerous and inaccurate advice, so same old story, a few spoil it for many. But once you do get access to the private forum and the arms you'll find it a lot more relaxed.
