I haven't got the ticket for fires or cookers yet, but can i do a GSC if the property has either?

Thought not..Need a ticket to check flame picture and gas rate on a hob, rubbish.

You certainly do....tickets for fires, cookers and boilers and then a separate one for Co.....where does it all end eh....

Can i do it and then get it counter signed by a plumber mate who has the cooker ticket?

Hows that gonna work....payment wise......Not supposed to sign anything off for someone else

Just didnt wanna have to turn the job away, never mind. Sooner i get the cooker ticket at least, the better.

Just gone through re-assessment this last week for all mine, don't fit gas fires but need the ticket for landlords certs

If the property just had boiler and cooker i wouldn't need the fire ticket to do the cert though presumably.

That's right, but when you get to one that has all three and you haven't got one of them tickets....your not doing that job are you...

Well no ill have to turn them away until i get that ticket. Money's tight and that but you have to speculate....

I appreciate your position REDSAW, but this raises an interesting point: If I get a gsr eng to do a safety cert, do I need to check on the gas safe site that he is covered for all appliance types?

yes, just like a ordinary customer would.

To the OP theres a lot more to doing a gas cert on a fire than just gas rating and checking the flame picture. Would you want to be responsible if there is a crack in the chimney in the attic and its spilling CO into the kids bedroom beneath.
