Hi Guys looking for a bit of Advice.

When it comes to Gas servicing I have read MI states that burner seals should only be changed at regular intervals and need to be replaced when disturbed so you aren't then able to clean the heat exchanger every year to save the customer an unnessary expense each year. So inbetween these intervals I believe it is an inspection rather than a service.

Do you still charge each visit as a service or do you advertise gas inspections as well as servicing with separate pricing?

Many Thanks,

Nico

every 3-4 years it gets a full strip down and clean inbetween just an inspection

Follow what the manufacturer tells you
I would go on some training days for the boilers you fit/work on
Each boiler is slightly different

Dont forget most customers will expect you to go back for free if there is an issue
Anno mate that's why I was thinking it's not a service each visit as you aren't asked to clean heat exchanger every year with certain boilers so was wondering do the then offer two separate prices as such. Also a good suggestion about the training days mate will be investigating more as you can never know enough

I recently attended a WorcesterBosch course and they stated most manufacturers now agree every 5 years full strip down, but as Scott has said, follow the MI’s. In the 2006 vaillant instructions it states what must be done in one year to the next.

Cheers mate appreciate the advice. How was the Worcester course?
