Hello,

Recently had a new combi-boiler installed (Ideal logic plus). We can smell gas outside the other side of the boiler near the flue (I believe that is the correct term), when the boiler is on (both hot water and heating). On the phone the gas-safe engineer said this was normal, however we've had a few issues with him during installation (i.e. unsafe installation of a meter) - so I would really appreciate a second opinion for peace of mind.

Many thanks in advance,
Evelyn

Sorry - I forgot to add that the flue is underneath a carport (plastic corrugated roof), which stands about 3m high. Didn't know if this would make a difference - though I suspect it stops the dissipation of gas.

Evelyn welcome to the forum. You can contact Gas Safe and request an inspection of the work free of charge if you have concerns. Or put your location in here and a reliable local guy will get in contact with you.
