Afternoon chaps,
I need a little info on extending a gas supply.

I am currently pricing a job where the customer is building a new house on there land, aprroximately 20m's from the existing house.
We need to get a gas supply across to the new house whilst keeping the existing working as they plan to move over once complete then in the future demolish the existing.

Ths gas meter is down at the gate entrance quater of a mile down the drive and no one yet knows where it enters the existing house.

First off can we move it ourselves and what woudl be the best route etc???

Any advice please guys and gals.
Cheers

i would say you need a new supply to the new house they need to contact gas trasporter

Yeah new supply for me as well what about pressure loss over that extended distance + moving the meter etc

Surely all you need to do is test the working pressure on the existing supply to ensure there isnt an excessive drop then locate the supply and divert it? Is it metal or plastic? Do you have the necessary equipment and skills to extend or otherwise modify the outlet pipework from the meter..? i.e excavation/fusion welding/cutting threading/backfilling etc??
