Seeing as i'm still slowly building up my tools I thought it'd be a good idea for the girlfriend to get me my torch for soldering as a chrimbo present and in the new year i will grab a few lengths of pipe and some fittings and practice my soldering.

What are you guys using at present any recommendations?

Rothenberger superfire2 with propane for 15&22 and Mapp gas for 28 and over as delivers hotter flame regards turnpin:66:

as above i even have a spare now i got my rothenberger freeze kit

Another vote for the superfire with propane. Only really use mapp if the pipe is a bit damp, and it needs a good blasting.
I have found propane ok up to 35mm.

Don't go with map gas until you can do it properly. It is too hot to learn with.

As you have been a good boy this year Armyash.:tank:

Ask for a Heatmat as well :hurray:

Cheers guys, will be getting it Thursday and I can pretend to look excited on Christmas morning lol will let you know what one i get :)

super fire 2 yiou wont get better. start with propane then go mapp unless u wanna just gio for it just watch for overheating the pipe as its easily done at first. pts had the torch gas solder mat pump pliers and bag for around £80 not long back bargain at that price
