Hi i am 44 years young an i am wanting to train to be a domestic gas engineer i have seen loads of training centres olci , rft training , access training etc but i have read a lot of bad reports as a lot of theses fast trak training do not deliver a full qualification can anybody advice ? i live in Herefordshire and would work as a gas engineer trainee for very low money to gain experience or if anybody wanted a full time plumber / gas trainee to work full time i would be well pleased if anybody has answers to training centres ? or work Thank you Mark

Best advice i can give is research this well before you spend your cash. There are plenty threads on here and other places so take the time to read some.

You will need deep pockets (both for the course and to support yourself) until you build up a customer base (not so easy to do).
The average wage in this industry is now around 20K and start up se probably under 10k.
Do your homework.

Hi markd, its not easy deciding where to go. i decided on olciafter a lot of research. all i can suggest is check out the training centers maybe and talk to the tutors there, you get more of a feel for what its going to be like then.
