Help!!!

mate of mine has just bought a rental flat. And it still has The original gas fittings in The wall for gas lights/lanterns.

Do any of you have experience capping these off. The thread seems to be smaller than 1/4 inch.

At the mo the only thing stopping the gas escaping is the original gas tap on the fixture but is open ended so not safe to leave.

My only other thought is cap it in floor but they've just had expensive wood floor laid.

Any help appreciated.

Matt
