I think I will need it tomorrow to fettle an Ideal isar with no display and not functional. We all know the fault but this may be a record as it has been installed for 6 years trouble free without any attention , not even a service.
I am offering 2-7 its the PCB if its not I will give 100-1
answers on a post card

1% chance it can be the lead from the control unit, it went on mine, changed PCB (cause we all KNOW it would be the PCB) didnt work and phoned ideal who said try cleaning the lead which clips onto the edge of the control unit box, or try changing it, bought a new one for £4 worked right away, changed back onto the old PCB just to see how upset i would be at buying a new one (was GREATLY UPSET) haha

Ideal Isar... hated the one i just had removed... broke down every xmas for the last 4 years, just about had it rebuilt numerous times... from circuit board control unit to expansion vessel to boiler off the wall and back again... abso drove us nuts..lol lol..

All this from being a little over 1 yr old.... they are so small that most guys hate working on them..

Anyway opted for Greenstar 28i and love it..

Thought I would update on the faulty Isar, It was the pcb and faulty ignition transformer.
Its not the first time I have had this combination and definatley will not be the last.
Oohhh I love these boilers.
