My booler is running hot then cold, it's been doing it for a wile but it's the old story I'll fix other peoples but not my own, well now it's stupid and needs doing. Dhw gets to a good temperature but then drops then picks up again

i changed the hot water flow switch last year and the onset of the problems started shortly after

could it be the heat exchange????
