hi all im at college doing my 2nd year course and am nearly at the end. Ive got one exam left to sit which is Central Heating and if i pass that i will be put in for my Gola but im not too sure what too expect init so just wondered if anybody else knew what would be in the exam if you have sat it.

kind regards Lee :)

Its easy, study a bit for it, i found most of it to be simple things with a bit of common sense thrown in.

Each gola is different and everyone has random questions, and the pass rate is 50-60%, good luck.

40 to 60% for your Gola exam. Wow thats unbelievable. We had to get 70% for ours.

Where did you do yours?

But you are right. The exam is really easy. As with all exams, study is the best way to pass.

oh yes you did, sorry mate. A mistake by me.

So have you been able to get work as a plumber since completing your 6129?

Its not complete yet, i still have an exam i have not completed and a single install left to finish (f+e plus cylinder)
I have that horrible 201 mes paper to pass, failed it twice :(

I have not looked into finding a plumber to work with yet, and i am dubious about doing it, i am working full time at present and paying rent, so i am not sure whether i can leave my current job which is steady and relying on someone self employed to let me work with him/her, and pay me, if i can get paid work at all, i just don't know what to do next, my next move may lead to a good career, or it may lead to being jobless and unable to pay rent etc, resulting in a complete and utter disaster for me.

what is the mes 201 you are refering to?

It;s tought times at the moment a. I worked with a plumber for a year as his mate for a little wage, but had to be self employed, and so was not able to do an apprenticeship with him. He also didnt have much work and so we were just doing little bits here and there and not enough big jobs to cover the nvq.

And so now i have had to go back to cheffing until i can find an employer.

Never thought it was going to be this hard. And i am living in the capital
