I've just been to the corner shop and bought a load. Offered him a tenner each and the silly sod nearly bit my arm off! Too dozy to realise he was sitting on a fortune!

I'm gonna be rich! :D :D :D

See you don`t embrace change mate and you sure as hell ain`t old enough to have a held White Lady Godiva :13:

When were they phased out? I remember the old fivers - blue and white I seem to recall, and bigger than today's twenties...

Maybe mas or was it because your hands were smaller

I used to eat a marathon but now I can put a full one in my mouth no problem

Take care they seem to blow away from a stack of notes easily , (not mine )
My son found his first blowing along the street !

:annoyed: Just broke one few days ago. The woman in shop actually said "you sure you don't want keep this?"
Never thought for a second they could be anything special.

National Commercial bank of Scotland (later bought over by RBS) white fivers and blue pound notes.
My dad found a pile of them in my Grans biscuit tin or wherever when she died in the 80's. I think he kept some so no doubt i'll find them in his biscuit tin.

The Clydesdale bank started issuing the plastic fivers last year. I've seen 2, both of them i got from the bank. Everybody seems to horde them as they are definitely not in general circulation.
