Have you fitted gch to a wood stove ? Any advice please !
Not that I will be installing one just interest to know anything about them specially of a non contoured source of heat !

thank you :)

Never did it with a stove but when i was an apprentice we did a few houses with gravity fed hw and rads (you can do them downstairs too, even below the level of the boiler if you have a solum).
Pretty easy thing to do Stan but the heat is poor unless the fire is running full pelt. Really just a background heat.
Stoves can have much bigger outputs than open fires (the outputs are always exaggerated) so they will work better.

Cheers Tom , much apriciatted as always !!!
merry Christmas to you and your familly !
have you got your self a Facebook yeat ?

Same to you and the family Stan.

I had a facebook but i switched it off because it attracted a lot of the dogs i'd been with in the past. My wee darling didn't like it.

to get downstairs rads you need to drop the returns below the boiler and come up to it they were usually one pipe system not very efficent

if the cold feed is next to boiler and is a large size pipe like 2" and lets say 6m head will it not be able to push it enough to get circulation on rads in the same level as boiler ? i am thinking of 2 pipe system
