hi got an install to do 'exsisting, ground floor boiler ,loft (2nd floor) cylinder-FE tank, 28mm flow return to boiler reducing to 22mm onto cylinder coil with the OV and WF from FE tank on 22mm flow just before cylinder. heating pumped ground floor 22mm reduced to 15mm - typical 70-80's set up would like to convert fully pumped but cant figure how with out ensuring system vented at all times. pipes in solid floors down stairs so dont want to pressurise?
can i still put a new boiler onto this system if i 2 port the Gravity return and fit cylinder stat (C plan) ?????

prob used to be a common prob any ideas greatly appreciated
cheers illloyd

Should be easy, the pressurised bit is moot you just need to identify your pipes.

put your controls near the boiler and run a new open vent to it OR use the existing 28s as the primarys, put the controls in the airing cupboard and pick up your heating flow and returns under the floor

remember vent and cold feed 150mm and on negative side of pump from boiler
or convert to s plan next to boiler and bring 22mm for combine vent and cold feed before pump !

S club for me 24/7 ain't no party like an s club party. Don't do y as u will be asking why did I why?

i have done many on y plan never had problem as long cylinder return is the last return

prob i got is to go fully pumped i need a 3rd run (vent) from grd floor under stair cup to loft 22mm with no where to hide it . or can i put controls on cylinder and MV on gravity return 'C Plan' which i think still complies with Part L as its just an upgrade not a fully new install.????

Use primaries and put new pump on flow in cyl cupboard/ h setup for cold/feed and vent and then to s/y plan and by-pass, connect onto upstairs heating circuit, cap old pump on return downstairs and bridge out heating flow downstairs where it linked to boiler as per gasmanxxxr1
OR
Do your set up near boiler with pressure vessel But use as gravity fed sealed system- keep f/e in place, cap vent, put check valve on cold feed, check with manufacturer first, some do mind some don't- clearly label so that anyone looking in future knows what you've done
