Heard a report the other day, about UK energy policy and how we should be looking more to nuclear power.

They went on to say we should concentrate more on heat pump technology as opposed to polluting gas.

Basically I suppose they mean nuclear power makes electricity and heat pumps use electricity as do possibly future cars.

So we would seem to be heading toward an electric future.

You can even get electric central heating boilers.

I think if they bring elec prices down, people may go for it in a big way.

:):):):)

I work in the heat pump sector and agree it may be the future however most premises that have heat pumps installed either air source or ground source , still have a back up by a good reliable gas or oil fired boiler, some have electric back up.
Hence the futurer of replacing gas and oil fired heating is still a long way off for two major reasons.

1 heat pumps are still very very expensive

2 Their not as reliable or consistent as exisiting techology

Thats my veiw anyway

I like the nucleur option ,alot cleaner for the enviremeent
Ok we may end up a bit deformed from the waste over spill but all that nice clean air to breath in to your one lung, works for me every time
