Hi there, I hope somebody can help me. My boiler is giving hot water but the heating isnt firing up. The green light to indicate the boiler is lit, is only coming on when I put the hot water tap on. The pressure is just over one. I have reset the boiler to no avail. I have checked the batteries in the heating thermostat. There is a flame icon flashing on the thermostat, that I am thinking may be flagging up the boiler isnt firing up. Also, I turned the thermo up to full when I reset the boiler. I have now turned it to minimum and the flame icon is no longer showing. Sorry for such a long explaination, I am just very confused. Many thanks in advance for any advice offered.

nothing you can do apart from get a gas engineer out, you can post on this form in "I'm looking for a plumber/gas engineer" and someone may be able to contact you if you post your location

Hi jaqui :)

What make of room thermostat do you have? It may have a manual over-ride at the receiver. They are generaly found external to the boiler and have one or two lights on them. Some have override facilities. If you have the instructions for the stat it may just need re-tuning to the receiver :)
