Hi guys , having an issue with the "great" greenstar . Basically it does try to fire up, u can hear the spark clicking , it does try few times then it goes to lockout.(flushing lights) Checked the gas valve , condensing trap , can't check the ratio .before I start striping out .. any suggestion ? Cheers

Is it passing any gas? Inlet filter could be blocked with black dust

i carry a spare set of electrodes to check the leads if they are ok.

what readings did you get for the solenoids?

Does gas pressure drop slightly when it try's to ignite ? The fan is running right??

I did suspect the fan, it's seems running ok but when boiler does lockout it runs for few second on higher speed than it stops

If its sparking, you need to confirm its getting gas.

Need to go back to it and strip it down and have a full check, need to get better with those worcesters as I got the same boiler on my own house ( not installed by me by the way)

After striping the boiler out , cleaned the baffles , changed the electrode and the seal...... Still the same issue , boiler won't fire up. Tenants on my head. Checked everything again gas valve 35 dc, resistance on coils ok, fan running ok , inlet pressure 21 mbar. I ran out of ideas until I checked the meter ... Guess what I found???

Does inlet pressure drop a tad when it tries to light? If not could be gas valve.

Restriction at meter? half shut ECV? meter swapped for bicycle inner tube?!

Yep ECV half shut after the lovely tenants threw all the shoes on it and turned the ECV half way down. So I was getting 21 mbar inlet standing pressure but the boiler start firing up the pressure would go as low as 6 mbar . I thought it was the regulator on the meter.
