I have a Greenstar 28i GC 47-311-87 NG to service, it's 2 years old. It will be the first time I have done one of these. I have read the MI's about taking the pressure and removing and cleaning HEX if pressure less than -3.9mb. They say you need a special tool to remove the HEX and clean it, question is do I need to buy the tool or will I be able to strip and clean it with normal tools?
How long will it take me for the service and could anyone give a quick list of what they actually do on this boiler for a service, and what parts I may need .Thanks

It's all in the MI. Follow instructions easy . If baffles need to come out my heart goes out to u . Will need a new seal.

You could do with buying the service kit, as said you will need a new red seal as well. I would allow about an hour and a half to two hours for the first tie of doing it. It can be awkward at first but not too bad after you have done a couple. To be honest though the chances are the reading will be fine and you wont be required to strip it down, although a full strip is worth doing about every 3-5 years anyway.

You may as well rip it out and fit a decent boiler now and save them the grief in a couple of years.

Analyser: ratio, CO2
Gas rate
Inlet pressure at max rate
Fan pressure
Cup of Tea

Happy customer. Don't start dismantling the bloody thing unless it needs it.

So your the one who is not cleaning the condensate trap out ;p

If it's a greenstar and it's filling Conny trap still count ur blessings

got the tool and seal and as long as the mi's state negative pressure and its in limits, the top stays on them, never used the seal or brush yet :)

Am not looking forward to the day I have to strip one of these. Seems like a proper mission from reading instructions. When on the ideal course you could strip that in 13 seconds

you could on the wb course as well, but thats one thats spent its life being taken apart, so neither is real world!

Ideal logic can be stripped re built and tested in accordance with mi in well under 10mins.

These can be stripped ,cleaned ,rinsed through and put back in around 20 mins no bother ... Once you've done a couple there not bad to work on

They're a pain in the bum. Got the tools, hope I never have to use them again. Another crap boiler from WB
