was at a customers house today, family friend really and I was fitting bath mixer taps with shower head. When I was finished was checking the temperature etc and noticed that the HW is absolutely roasting, probably about 70 Degrees would take the skin off you but the MI's of the boiler state it is pre-set at 55 Degrees, I didnt have a thermometer with me but I don't think the water temp was 55 degrees.
My first thought was if it was overgased, done a quick gas rate and it seemed to be ok coming out at around 29kw well within the tolerance. I advised customer to get someone to look at it as legally I can't at the moment, but does anyone know what might be up so I can let her know ? Boiler was fitted 3 year ago, she says it has been roasting for as long as she can remember, but with the new mixer tap/shower installed she can't use the shower at the moment as it is far too hot.
