Gutted is not the word ,
around 1.05 this afternoon my world fell apart , the best tool I have ever bought died .
A 18 year ish old Makita Supermak which I have treated like a women , was bobing along nicely , speed 1 , not hot , not having any “stick” somthing went and it stopped with a nasty smell .
Its never been dropped, abused , lent out , I loved it , with it being a mini breaker I actually thought they could dig my grave with it and bury it with me .
Guys , devastated is not the word , how would you come to terms with such a loss ??

Simple the only way is up keep moving along but I think a nice stuffing and mounting should do nicely

I bet it can be fixed.
Pull it to bits.
Have you checked the brushes?

Should have bought a Hilti anyhow! :)
Has your Makita brushes on the motor?
They cost very little and make a terrible smell when worn out and motor stutters, or fails to work.
Worth a look
Ha Ha great minds eh? and at the same time too

Lol! Thank goodness somebody else is as smart as me! ;)
He says he treated it like a woman, but I bet he didn't buy it brushes. :p
No I bet. You should always say it with Brushes!

My pals had 3 of them in the 18 years since I bought this lol

All I want is a bit of support and understanding and perhaps a whip-round , and all you lot do is take the pi@@

think we should have a get together and say some last words while supporting town

If the Makita cost say, £500 and it has done 18 years, that works out as approx £28 per year, or about 70 pence per week of a 40 working week, or less than 14 pence per a working day.
Puts it in perspective.
It probably paid for itself in the first 2 months.

Get a motor specialist to rewind the motor if it's that important. EDIT i.e. replace the coils in the windings, if that's the problem.

Hell of a good motor in them Makitas.
Probably cost too much, if even possible.
I think the quality machines have multiple windings.
I think he should bite the bullet and spend money. :p

Yeah but he's from the White Rose County, (they can be a bit tight, not all but some)
You could always sell that Yorkshire Passport!

what do you use it for?

Good question pal , obviously coreing and I am sure a good quality SDS mains drill would suffice, but these are also mini breakers and chiselers, you could knock a house down with one ( take a while though lol ) the chisel will shift plaster / tiles etc off a wall . So the odd time you use them for the breaker / chiseling, they are invaluable. Not sure what to do !!
